Machine learning models using daily step counts from wearable devices accurately predicted the risk of a first unplanned hospitalization event during concurrent chemoradiotherapy (CRT). A model combining step counts with clinical features showed the highest predictive ability, surpassing models relying solely on clinical data. This could pave the way for proactive interventions to improve outcomes during CRT.

A recent study comparing cognitive performance in fibromyalgia syndrome (FMS) and rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients revealed significant deficits in attention, memory, and higher cognitive functions in both patient groups vs. controls.
