This slide presentation lays focus on 2 major beta-blockers (i.e. carvedilol & metoprolol) used in HF management; discussing important trials for both (e.g. ANZ multicentre HF study, COPERNICUS, CAPRICON, COMET, MERIT-HF, REVERT, RESOLVD). Apart from listing the indications & contraindications for beta-blockers, it also provides information on when to start with beta-blocker therapy in HF & how to titrate the dose. Finally, it discusses approaches to manage complications arising from beta-blocker therapy.
