Bicalutamide is a non-steroidal antiandrogen which is indicated in the treatment of advanced prostate cancer in combination with castration. This combined androgen blockade is shown to provide survival benefit as compared to castration alone in these patients. Bicalutamide 150 mg has a role in management of locally advanced prostate cancer and may be preferred to castration. This slide presentation elaborates on the diagnosis, management of prostate cancer and the role of bicalutamide in prostate cancer treatment.
